The referendum on March 21, 1992 showed that the Tatars’ aspiration to strengthen their own statehood has not gone away and any paper republic is not enough for them. Of the 81.7% people participating in the referendum, 61.4% voted “FOR”.

I saw a video on Telegram about an old man from Tuymazy (Bashkortostan). An upset pensioner is interviewed with a ballot paper in his hands… Poor grandfather, he sincerely wanted to fulfill his civic duty in the fascist country… he wanted to vote for his candidate! But there was no one! You are foolish, you are a simpleton!
