Volunteer-Habirovets, Penal Battalion, and Blood Money

Halyna, the mother of a deceased 33-year-old volunteer-contract soldier Pavlo from Dostavalov Battalion, filed a complaint to the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, against lawyer Roman Petrov. Petrov failed to prevent her son from being sent back to the war after his leave.

Pavlo, who volunteered for the war in good health, visited his hometown of Belebey in April 2023 during leave. By then, he was in poor physical condition and deeply depressed.

Determined to save her son from returning to the front, Halyna spent 450,000 rubles in vain. Pavlo was declared a deserter and forcibly returned to his military unit. From there, he was transferred to a penal battalion, where he was killed almost immediately—in December 2024.

After his death, Halyna demanded that the lawyer refund the money for the unfulfilled work. However, the lawyer accused her of defamation and threatened to sue her.

This is what lies behind the propagandist image shown every few days on Bashkir television—depicting cheerful groups of Habirovets units returning to the front after their leave. The mother now complains to the chief predator that the war consumed her son and didn’t choke on him. But that’s exactly why he was sent to war—to die for Putin!
