The Kremlin will send Tuvans to die in Ukraine in glasses and rubber boots
“The Second Army of the World” continues to impress with its insignificance and clumsiness. The other day, a platoon of volunteers was formed in the Republic of Tuva. These mercenaries decided to show the attitude of the Russians to their troops with all their appearances: rubber boots instead of berets, which were not enough for everyone, soldiers’ glasses, which speak of vision problems, and the wrinkled face of a pensioner peeking out from under a particularly “aesthetic” balaclava.
However, no matter how comical it looks, the situation is not funny at all. Russian collaborator Sholban Kara-ool and his owners have impoverished the region – more than 20% are unemployed and more than 40% are below the poverty line. And this is before the war with Ukraine. Unsurprisingly, needy and poor people are willing to join even as one-time soldiers to earn something. This is a horrible situation, but even worse is the fact that no Tuvan organization has condemned the move.
Everyone has come to terms with the idea that their compatriots are going to die in another part of Eurasia in search for money for food in a war that will bring nothing but death and even greater poverty.
