The International Association of Chuvash people of the USA was established

On the 9th of November, 2019 The International Association of Chuvash people of the USA was established in Miami, Florida.

This was reported by the editor of the literary magazine “Tӑvan Atӑl” (the “Native Volga”) Lydia Filippova (Mikhailova) according to the “Chuvash people’s website”.

Valery Lukyanov has become the head of The International Association of Chuvash people of the USA, who is the honored artist of Chuvashia. In the media of Chuvashia, it was previously reported that one of the congresses of the CHNK in Cheboksary was attended by Lukyanov’s daughter, who married an American of Spanish origin and she lives in the United States.

Among the organizers of the Association is also master of sports, who was part of the USSR national team in marathon running Nadezhda Sandrkina, who was born in the village of Sredniye Algashi (Chuvash. “Chӑvashkassi”) of the Tsil’ninskij district of the Ulyanovsk region.

The meeting of the Organizing Committee of The International Association of Chuvash people of the USA was attended by seven people. Five of them were in the Chuvash national costumes. The agenda of the meeting includes the presentation of the book by Nikolai Larionov about Nadezhda Sandrkina and the “Kӗr Sӑri” (the “Autumn Beer”).

The pictures show that the meeting was held on the shores of the Atlantic ocean. On the table decorated with national flags of the United States and the Chuvash Republic are the books. On the wall hangs a poster in the Chuvash language with a call from the poem by Mikhail Sespel “Chӑvash Achine” (“Son of Chuvash”, 1920).
