The Bashkirs want independence from Russia

The leaders of the national movements of the Tatars, Bashkirs, Chechens, Buryats, Erzyans, Kalmyks, as well as the small peoples of the North of Russia, made anti-war statements. The tone of statements is different – from restrained pacifist among the peoples of the North of Russia to anti-colonial among the Chechens and Tatars.
