One of the most heroic acts in the modern history of Udmurtia

On this day 84 years ago, in Kuzymgurt village, Albert Razin, the great son of Udmurt nation, was born – one of three children in a family of Udmurts victims of repressions carried out by rushists.

He grew up among 98% of Udmurts and therefore could not imagine himself without his native language and native people. He could not submit to the occupier, who said that indigenous peoples were a relic of the past. An Honored Scientist of Udmurtia, Associate Professor, member of the Union of Scientists and member of the Udmurt Kenesh, the national movement, Razin committed in 2019 one of the most heroic acts in the modern history of the Republic.

Paradoxically, but he burned himself so that Udmurts existed. So that they wake up from oblivion, throw off the deceptive veil of Muscovy’s great-power propaganda, stop living only with momentary selfish interest and think about the future, remember how bravely their ancestors fought against the Moscow occupier. Being already an old man, Razin could not fight otherwise and committed the act, daring and the only available to him, – forcing not only Udmurtia, but the whole world to talk about him and the decolonization of Russia. Let his feat not be in vain and Udmurtia win its freedom and independence?
