Opposition activist Airat Dilmuhametov detained in Ufa

Early today, March 14, Airat Dilmuhametov’s apartment was searched, Bashkir activist and dissident himself was detained.

Seven persons in masks appeared to be FSB operatives in Bashkortostan, as NewsBash reports.

“I have been informed that he was taken away for interrogation on Krupskoi street, where office of Federal Security Service in Bashkortostan is located. They said that Airat is prosecuted for specific performance which was published in internet in April”, – Agiliash Dilmuhametova said.

Idel.Realii portal reports that in 2016 Airat Dilmuhametov was acknowledged as a prisoner of state by Memorial, Russian human rights society, since in March 2015 he was sentenced to three years of strict regime penal colony on charges of “justification of terrorism”. Bashkir community and Russian human rights defenders considered the sentence as an act of political violence against opposition publicist. Dilmuhametov was released from Russian prison in September 2017.
